After finally succeeding in the tablet category with the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 last year, the Redmond-based tech giant is going all out in unveiling new devices this year.

Microsoft Surface 3 Tablet was recently announced and is heading to shipping next month. The tablet is deemed as slightly inferior to the Surface Pro line, although it packs decent specs and features. Meanwhile, reports claimed that the company will finally take the wraps off the successor of the popular Surface Pro 3 at the BUILD developers conference on Apr. 29. Thus, Microsoft fans are faced with the dilemma whether to buy the new Surface 3 Tablet or wait for the new Surface Pro 4 this month?

Surface 3 Tablet

According to Maine News Online, the new Surface 3 tablet is a thinner and lighter version of the hybrid device - Surface Pro 3. The tablet comes with a 10.8-inch screen display with a Full HD (1920x1280) pixel resolution and is powered by the new Intel Atom processor dubbed as Cherry Trail. Other features of the device are: 8-megapixel rear camera; a 3.5-megapixel front camera; a full-size USB 3.0 port; a mini-DisplayPort; a micro-USB 2.0 slot; and 802.11ac Wi-Fi.

Microsoft Surface Pro 4

Microsoft may step up its game and will release two variants of the device - one with 12-inch screen panel and another one with 14-inch display. Both versions will sport a 2160 x 1440 screen resolution. Aside from more options in screen display, the device will also pack Intel Core M Broadwell chip paired with Windows 10 OS as well as 16 GB of RAM and a storage capacity of 1 TB.

Although the rumored specs and features of Surface Pro 4 are superior than that of Surface 3 Tablet, it is still not the official specifications of the device. Moreover, Microsoft has not confirmed yet whether it will announce the Surface Pro 4 this month.
