The Android 5.0 Lollipop update has just rolled out to Samsung Galaxy A3 users in Russia. According to reports, the rest of the devices under the A series, such as the A5 and the A7, will be getting their chance on the update between April and May.

Units that are eligible for the update will be getting it soon. However, for units that are not eligible for the roll out, their owners will have to keep checking over the course of the next couple of days.

Once the Android 5.0 Lollipop has been downloaded and successfully installed into the unit, the device will be featuring Material Design, an enhanced TouchWiz UX, some obvious changes to the lock screen, changes to the device’s notification settings, as well as improvements on the unit’s performance and battery life, according to iDigitalTimes.

A report from GSM Arena has pointed out that the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Galaxy A3 will be available in two different methods, namely, over-the-air and the Kies suite.

The report also mentioned that Russia was the first country to get Android’s latest system update. Fortunately for the rest of the world, as long as there are no issues with firmware, the update will be rolling out to Galaxy A3 units all over the globe in a matter of days.

Update eligibility may be checked by viewing the System Updates option of the device. This particular feature can be found inside the About Phone option, which, in turn, can be accessed through the device’s Settings.
