Playing "Captain America" title role, Evans said that he will be returning to Marvel in late 2016 for the back-to-back shooting of the "Avengers: Infinity Wars" duology, as per Cinema Blend. According to the actor, the production for "Infinity Wars" will commence in the third quarter of next year, either fall or winter.

The filming schedule is said to be the counterpart of the "Lord of the Rings" or "The Hobbit," having a onetime shooting instead of putting a long break in between films.

There is no official announcement yet as to the exact plot details and as to who will exactly appear in the duology. Aside from Iron Man, Thor, and Hulk appearing, all that is known is Thanos, who is set to achieve all the six Infinity stones and assemble them in the Infinity Gauntlet for him to be the ultimate god.

After "Captain America: Civil War," Evans has not decided if he will take a break or push another directing job or a movie, as per Esquire. Since Evans said that both movies of the "Infinity Wars" are filming "back-to-back," it places the actor to a high possibility of appearing in both movies.

The film is set to be helmed by filmmakers Joe and Anthony Russo, along with Christopher Markus and Stephen McFreely on board to pen the screenplay.

"Avengers: Infinity War Part I" is set to premiere in theaters on May 4, 2018 while "Avengers: Infinity War Part II" will hit the big screen on May 3, 2019.
