Xu and Ortega visited the Center for the Integral Management of Diabetic Patients in Mexico City, where people suffering from morbid obesity are being treated, the news site added.

In 2014, there are over 46 million Chinese who suffer obesity, making China the second country with the most number of obese after the United States.

Twenty-eight percent of obese Chinese are adult men, while 27 percent are women.

According to the World Health Organization, the excessive number of fast food chains in cities is the main factor why most Chinese are suffering from obesity.

Mexico, on the other hand, is on the sixth spot with 26 million recorded cases.

The introduction of processed foods, intake of dietary energy, coupled with unhealthy lifestyle, are the reasons seen why Mexicans become obese.

Through the initiatives between China and Mexico, the rate of obesity in the two countries is expected to decrease.
