Moto X Android 5.1 Lollipop OS update is set to hit the US shores after the update was seeded in smartphones in selected countries.

It is only a matter of time before the Moto X users in the United States will get to enjoy the perks and fixes that the new firmware bring.

Motorola spokesman David Shuster announced earlier this month that the device will skip the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OS update and will be updated to the Android 5.1 software. However, the update will be rolled out in Brazil at the moment. According to Gospel Herald, there is no confirmation from the three major carriers in the United States whether the latest Android update will be heading to the Motorola anytime soon.

The Moto X 2014 was one of the first devices that received the latest Android Lollipop operating system. Motorola also announced that the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS update for the second generation of Moto X is already in the works.

According to Christian Today, some of the new fixes and features included in the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS update exclusive to Motorola handsets are: Moto Actions, Moto Display, apart from the original features of the pure Android 5.1 Lollipop OS.

Meanwhile, there are also talks claiming that Google will roll out the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS update soon. The OS update was supposed to fix some of the stubborn bugs and issues left unfixed by Android 5.1. The new update will reportedly fix the annoying memory loss as well as the bug that eats up the storage space. However, there is no official confirmation from Google yet as to when it will release the update as well as what updates it will bring.
