"I think, slowly, slowly, the real action's gone. Really," said the 61-year-old star on being quizzed about the place of pure martial arts in this digital world filled with special effects and computer graphics, Indie Wire reported.

The star subtly accused the present generation of movies for being too unrealistic. "They can use special effects and computer graphics to make everybody become an action star," quipped the star of "Drunken Master."

Chang revealed how during his early days of an acting career, he had done several difficult stunts without any aid of special effects, hurting himself several times in the process. The world famous star also declared that his fans do not want him to take the help of technology to create illusions for them.

The star who has appeared in almost 150 films, disclosed that neither he did any superhero movie during his lifetime, nor his fans would appreciate him in that role. Chan lightheartedly made fun of superhero movies saying that becoming a "Spiderman" is so easy, IGN reported.

Chan's next movie "Dragon Blade," which is set to hit the screens this year, was the opener of the film festival this year. Daniel Lee directed-flick took almost seven years to complete. The  movie is about an exiled Chinese general, played by Chan, who offers shelter to a Roman leader and to his group of armed men, and gets embroiled in dispute with Rome's villainous consul, played by Adrien Brody.

Chan also recalled the difficulties the team faced during filming of the movie. The major part of the shooting took place in Gobi desert under harsh condition wherein the team was even instructed not to use vehicles to commute as it will destroy the aerial shots of the period movie with tyre marks in sand.
