"NCIS" will wrap up its Season 12 with Episode 24 airing May 12, 2015. The show comes to close with a jaw-dropping plot which will feature death of a well-loved character. The final segment is titled "Neverland" and focuses on team's investigation of a terrorist group that is involved in terror acts across the globe. NCIS lost Agent Dorneget in an explosion in the penultimate segment of Season 12. The team continues to cope up with the death of one of their own. According to the synopsis for "Neverland" (via Spoiler TV), after a series of bombing attacks, Gibbs and others frantically look for the links that will take them to the terror group that uses children for their cause. While the team deals with Agent Dorneget's death, they suffer another unexpected loss. Team's investigation of the terrorist group ends in an "emotional loss."  

The Episode 24 will see Mimi Rogers guest star as CIA Officer Joanna Teague. According to TV Fanatic, she happens to be Agent Dorneget's mother. A promo video (via YouTube.com/TVBox Promos) for "NCIS" Season 12 gives a glimpse of the events of "Neverland" and promises a "heart stopping" finale.  

"NCIS" actress Emily Wickersham, who plays the role of Ellie Bishop revealed that the finale will be "emotional and surprising" and the team will suffer a loss. Speaking to Fox 411, the star hinted at the death of a character that the team is "really fond of" and fans really "love."

"There is motivation that comes with that death," Wickersham was quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, CBS has formally announced the renewal of "NCIS" and its return for Season 13. The premiere date of the show's new instalment remains unknown. However, Wickersham revealed that Season 12 will end with a "shocking twist" and a "cliffhanger," which will lay the ground for Season 13. "It will ramp up in the first few episodes of the next season, and it will be surprising," Wickersham told the abovementioned daily news publication.

Fans may also expect to see several series regular return for "NCIS" Season 13. According to TV Line, Sean Murray, David McCullum, Rocky Carroll and Pauley Perrette signed two-year contracts in 2014 for Season 12 and 13.
