Mentioned here is a compilation of some of the rumor stories concerning the three main aspects of the iPad big bro - display, processing power and software.

Display:

To begin with, it's the size that is going to catch the eye before anything else. With a display likely to be 12.9 inch, this clearly will be the biggest that Apple has ever produced in the tablet domain. Lighting up that much of screen real estate will be greater number of pixels and Foxconn sources have already pointed out Apple experimenting with 2k and 4k displays. Given Apple's fascination for pixel-rich displays, a 4K enabled iPad Pro cannot be ruled out entirely.

Other tech bits being associated with the iPad Pro display include silver nanowire coated displays offering Force Touch to sapphire glass displays.

Processor:

Providing the processing punch will be the next gen Intel Broadwell chips that is due out in a few months' time. The new passively cooled motherboards too can be introduced to the iPad Pro, claimed pocket-lint.

However, the triple-core A8X processor that made its debut with the iPad Air or an even more advanced A9 chip too are being discussed as frontrunners to power the device, mentioned MacRumor.

Software:

Apart from the size, the other aspect of the iPad Pro that could surprise many is the software side of it. While some sources claim the device to run iOS in continuance with the iPad legacy, another school of thought claim the OS X could make its debut in the tablet sphere with the iPad Pro.

There has already been a report in Digitimes claiming two prototypes of the iPad Pro being tested, one each running iOS and Mac OS X. The latter bit does make sense considering Apple is targeting the business segment with the new Pro version.

Final production models could come in two versions as well to cater to individual requirements, one running iOS for those who require a bigger iPad with the productivity oriented Max OS X version targeted at the business segment.

Finally, the other big question looming large is the availability of the device. Apple has the WWDC scheduled to begin on June 12 which is when many believe the iPad Pro to make a grand unveiling. But then, there are also those who believe it could be only around September for the device to make a market splash due to production constraints even if it is launched in June.
