Butterfiled does make to be a logical choice as the new Peter Parker, as per Cinema Blend. The "Hugo" actor has just turned 18 a month and a half ago, allowing him to work for longer hours for filming.

Additionally, Butterfield is in ongoing production with filmmaker Tim Burton in 2016's fantasy "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiars," in which the actor will work with "Penny Dreadful" actress Eva Green and "Avengers" star Samuel L. Jackson.

The filming of the said film is said to have no impact to Butterfield's debut as "Spider-Man" in Joe and Anthony Russo's "Captain America: Civil War" in 2016.

It was last month when Butterfield's name became attached to a shortlist of actors to play the iconic web-slinger, along with Tom Holland, Nat Wolff, Liam James, and Timothee Chalamet.

After the revelation of the actor shortlist, was reported after a couple of weeks that the shortlist has been dropped to two actors, leaving Butterfield and "The Impossible" actor Holland as options for Marvel studio.

The previous incarnation films for "Spider-Man" presented the web-slinger's origin, but Marvel head Kevin Feige recently said that the new solo film will center on a younger "Spider-Man."

The younger Peter Parker is set to explore things as a high school student prior to his take-off into the real world, as per Latino Review.

The working title "Spider-Man: The New Avenger" has also surfaced online recently, but it can still change, since the solo film is not going to be released until 2017.

As for the director of the upcoming solo "Spider-Man" film, Marvel has not given its pick among Jared Hess, Theodeore "Ted" Melfi, "Jonathan Levine, Jonathan Goldstein, John Francis Daley, and Jason Moore.

Since there has been no official announcement yet coming from Marvel at this point, fans can expect the studio to make an announcement on the new Peter Parker and the film's director soon.

"Spider-Man: The New Avenger" is slated to premiere on July 27, 2017 while "Captain America: Civil War" is set to hit theaters on May 6, 2016.
