With the legalization and regulation of the cannabis market, such as for medical marijuana, gaining momentum in the United States, the online weed industry is booming.

Eddie Miller, the founder of a popular pot company, told iDigitalTimes that every six months a new "revolution" or "revelation" happens in the marijuana industry. For example, that can include issues regarding those people who qualify for buying medicinal cannabis.

Four U.S. states have passed marijuana legalization, according to Mother Jones. Experts predict that around one dozen more states will legalize recreational weed within the next few years.

A marijuana startup business is only clearly unwise in 10 U.S. states. In those states medical hemp programs are neither being created nor expanded.

Miller believes that within time marijuana legalization will be implemented through federal legislation. That will create many business opportunities.

Such a development would provide tech tools for growers and dispensaries, in sectors such as inventory and logistics. A cannabis commodities exchange could even follow.

Consumers have a variety of options in the expanding cannabis industry. They include a marijuana delivery app, a stoners dating app, and weed vacation packages, according to iDigital Times.

For political potheads, Legalization.org will be launched later this year. It will keep visitors up-to-date with the newest pot legalization news, and the stance of various political candidates on the hot issue.

Miller explained that investment in certain weed companies is greater due to their business transparency. Meanwhile, investors of companies with other business models stay "in the dark."
