In the past few days, a rumor has been doing the rounds that Samsung's Galaxy Note 5 would arrive as early as July. However, Shin Jong-kyun, President of Samsung Electronics, has denied the rumor.
Typically, Samsung introduces its latest Galaxy Note device a day before the opening of IFA in Berlin. The IFA consumer electronics show happens in September each year in Berlin. According to reports, Samsung has shifted the date forward, as early prototypes for the Galaxy Note 5 smartphone were completed much earlier than anticipated, according to GSMArena.
According to rumors, the mobile maker Samsung had already showcased a prototype of the handset to its partners to start taking pre-orders for a July release. It was believed that Samsung was looking to launch early to get a head start on Cupertino-based Apple. However, Shin Jong-kyun has now rejected the rumor.
Also, the issue of lower than anticipated sales for the Samsung Galaxy S6 smartphone was raised at the press conference. According to a report from Korea, out of the 300,000 pre-orders of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, just 200,000 units have been sold.
Shin Jong-kyun did not agree with these reports and dismissed them as false. The Samsung supremo said that the Galaxy S6 smartphone will be a strong seller for the company this year, NDTV Gadgets reported.
According to rumors, Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will include features such as 4100 mAh battery capacity, 4.7 megapixel front-facing camera, 4 GB of RAM and 5.9 inches in size with 4K screen resolution. In addition, the smartphone will support the new Android operating system and will be protected by corning Gorilla glass.
