#WelcomeBackTo1DZayn began in Brazil after a proclaimed telecast of a One Direction documentary in which Malik apparently claimed that he will make a comeback later this year, according to Heatworld. The hashtag spread like a wildfire on the micro-blogging site sending the despair fans into frenzy.

While some online commentators were quick to rejoice and celebrate the reunion, some were still showing their anger towards Malik who left the band abruptly two months back. Some fans got reportedly too emotional as they even threatened the singer to stay away from the band while some claimed that he is no more welcome.

It soon turned out that the news was absolutely fake and Malik has never made any claim about his comeback. Twitter was flooded with cry emojis and broken hearts with some Twitter users even threatened to kill the Brazilian fan that made up the story and started the fake hashtag.

Neither Malik nor any of the band members, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan, tweeted anything on the matter. Another unconfirmed hashtag, #ZaynInManila, trended over the weekend was, which claimed that the 22-year-old English singer will be performing solo in Manila soon, Cambio reported.

Meanwhile, Malik seems indifferent towards the furore over the possibility of return to the band. Crushing the hopes of fans, who hoped that the trending hashtag will lead Malik to rethink about his departure, the young singer is said to be preparing for his wedding to Little Mix singer, Perrie Edwards.
