With "Rap God," Detroit rapper Eminem has the most words in a hit single, an official Guinness World Record. But that is about to change, according to United Kingdom rapper Harry Shotta.

Premiered on YouTube on Oct. 14, 2013 in the United States, "Rap God" peaked at number seven at the Billboard Hot 100 on Nov. 2, 2013. With 1,560 words, the song was declared the hit single that contains the most words by the Guinness World Records.

Eminem co-wrote "Rap God," which runs six minutes and three seconds, with Kim Nazel, Fatima Shaheed, Juana Burns, Dania Birks, Richard Walters, Douglas Davis, Stephen Hacker, Matthew Delgiorno and Bigram Zayas.

Recently, Shotta claimed that he has topped Eminem's record with is news song "Animal," which runs six minutes and 23 seconds and has 1,771 words.

In an interview with UKF, Shotta said the idea of fitting more than a thousand words in a rap song started when his DJ named DJ Phantasy decided to mash up the Detroit rapper's "Rap God" beat with his lyrics.

The U.K. rapper said, "We did it live and it worked really well then Phantasy sent me a beat at the same BPM. I started to write to it and remembered the reaction of the Westfest. I wanted it to be the exact length of 'Rap God' and, just for a personal challenge, I wanted to see if I could get anywhere close to his word count."

Guinness World Records has yet to confirm that Shotta's "Animal" has broken Eminem's "Rap God" record as the hit single with the most words.
