In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Harington revealed that the David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, the showrunners of "Game of Thrones" (GOT), told him that Jon Snow is dead and he is not "coming back next season."

Talking about the death of Jon Snow, Harington revealed that he read the script but he didn't read George R. R. Martin's novel "A Dance with Dragons," in which his character actually dies after getting stabbed multiple times. It must be noted that Olly is not the character who kills Jon Snow in the books.

Since the death of his character was the "final shot" of the "Game of Thrones" (GOT) Season 5, the actor said that "made it extra special" for him. And he even appreciated the way Olly was introduced in the storyline. He feels Jon Snow's end was "well crafted."

Harington weighed in on "Game of Thrones" (GOT) future and its end. "I think they'll have to end it with most epic f-k-all battle TV has ever seen," Harington told the abovementioned publication.

Meanwhile, several theories about Jon Snow's return in "Game of Thrones" (GOT) Season 6 are floating around. When the publication asked the same question to Dan Weiss, the showrunner gave a firm answer: "Dead is dead."

At the same time, rumours about Jon Snow's return began making the rounds when a Reddit user AnakinGabriel posted a message that claimed that Harington is already filming for the upcoming "Game of Thrones" (GOT) season in Belfast. The message also contained an alleged photo of the actor outside a restaurant. However, veracity of the claims will only be tested when the show returns next season.
