With several "Furious 8" cast updates circulating online after Vin Diesel's announcement of the post-Paul Walker sequel's release date, two of the characters said to be reprised are Monica Fuentes (Eva Mendes) and Mr. Nobody (Kurt Russell).

In "2 Fast 2 Furious," Monica Fuentes, a United States Customs Service agent, worked undercover as the aide of the Argentinian born Miami drug lord Carter Verone (Cole Hauser). She developed feelings for Brian O'Conner (Walker) as she earned the mistrust of Roman Pearce (Tyrese Gibson).

On the other hand, Mr. Nobody is a supporting character in "Furious 7." Known only for his alias, the character is a government agent and covert operative who was involved in the feud between Dominic Toretto (Diesel) and Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) on the request of Luke Hobbs, a Diplomatic Secret Service agent.

In "Furious 8," the reappearance of Monica Fuentes will cause a rift between Dominic Toretto and his wife Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez). A love triangle between the three will be part of the sequel's plot. As for Mr. Nobody, there are still no details about how the character will reappear in "Furious 8."

Diesel has yet to confirm whether or not Mendes and Russell will be part of the "Furious 8" cast. Meanwhile, he is set to produce Universal Pictures' film adaptation of the classic TV series "Kojak," which will be written by Philip Gawthorne, Deadline reported.

Meanwhile, Diesel was recently also Ouarzazate, Morocco shooting Ang Lee's 2016 film "Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk," which also stars Kristen Stewart and Steve Martin, according to Le 360.
