According to BreatheCast, when he was asked about an expected release date for 'The Winds of Winter,' he said that, "I wish it was out now. Maybe I'm being overly optimistic about how quickly I can finish. But I canceled two convention appearances. I'm turning down a lot more interviews - anything I can do to clear my decks and get this done."

He has shown his commitment for 'The Winds of Winter,' as he apologized to his fans in a blog post for not turning up at public events. He canceled his appearance at World Fantasy Convention, which is going to be held in Saratoga in November 2015, according to Christian Today.

Similarly, he also decided against attending the Comic Con 2015, which is going to be held in San Diego. However, a ray of hope is still alive for fans as he said that he reserves the right to change his mind. In case he finishes up the book early, then he will make an appearance at the San Diego Comic Con.

The season 5 finale of 'Game of Thrones' aired recently and the brutal death of Jon Snow shocked the fans. A debate has arisen over whether he is really dead or not. Fans are also divided over whether Snow will have a revival in the next season or not.
