Kevin Durant's KD8 shoes by Nike was unveiled Tuesday and immediately ignited speculations that it 
signified he is moving to Washington Wizards because it is red.

Observers noted that red is not part of the colors of the Oklahoma City Thunder, which in turn is the

dominant color of the Washington Wizards.

Durant will be the  most hotly-pursued free agent next summer and the media has speculated he could 
leave Oklahoma City. 

The Washington Wizards are Durant's hometown team and there were talks that it is his most favored 
destination.

Durant alongside John Wall will immediately make the Wizards title contenders.

The Miami Heat, Brooklyn Nets, New York Knicks and Golden State Warriors are also preparing to pursue 
Durant.

According to CBS Sports, the Heat are going after Durant and wants Dwyane Wade to take a below market 

deal in order to create more cap space to keep Goran Dragic and Hassan Whiteside.


Durant is earning $20 million this season and mat become too expensive for the small market Thunder, especially with teammate Russell Westbrook getting paid over $16 million and $17 million in the next two seasons.

Durant is expected to be healthy for the 2015-16 campaign after missing much of this previous season doe to foot injuries.

Meanwhile, the KD8 is Durant's eighth signature shoe with Nike.

The designs vary drastically from the KD7 have two new technological innovations for a basketball 
sneaker.

The shoe uses Flyweave technology, a design of woven textiles engineered for spacesuits.

Also, the Nike Zoom Air unit designed for the KD8 provides responsive cushioning that moves naturally 
with Durant's foot. Thousands of high-strength fibers connect the top and bottom of this Zoom Air 
unit, which runs the foot's entire length.  It is designed with strategically placed notches in the 
forefoot and heel to comfortably flex with the foot's movement.
