Motorola DROID Turbo Android 5.1 Lollipop OS update release may not happen anytime soon as there is no word yet from the tech company, but US carrier Verizon Wireless offers an online simulator to give users the closest thing of having Android 5.1 in Moto DROID Turbo.

According to Vine Report, Verizon offers a simulator of the online version of the DROID Turbo handset with Android 5.1 OS. The simulator offers the core features of the Lollipop version of Android operating system mixed with Verizon -exclusive features and add-ons.

The carrier also offered a detailed guide on how to use the software and how to maximize all the features. It also presented troubleshooting tips and methods for the possible problems that users may encounter once the over-the-air update rolled out such as battery, application, communication, connectivity issues.

The last time we heard about Moto DROID Turbo will receive the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS update is when Motorola stated that the firmware is in the lab going through final testing.

Meanwhile, unlocked version Moto X 2013 in US, Brazil, and Canada started receiving the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS update, which brings various features like Quick Setting, Material Design, screen pinning and viewing of apps, Smart Lock, multi-tasking and more.

"I am pleased to announce that we have started full deployment of the 5.1 Android Lollipop upgrade for Moto X (1st Gen) for US Retail, Brazil Retail and Rogers in Canada," Motorola's Senior Director of Software Product Management David Schuster announced in his Google+ account.

Meanwhile, Motorola reportedly halted the soak test of Android 5.1 in Moto X 2014 as an issue was encountered by developers. However, the said issue was resolved and internal testing has been carried out. Shuster confirmed that if all goes well, the update will also arrive to users in the coming days.

Motorola will begin the soak test in Italy, Hong Kong, Australia, Malaysia, The Netherlands, Belgium, etc. The update is expected to roll out soon.
