O2, a UK-based telecom operator and LG Greece's Facebook page (LG Hellas) have confirmed that the electronics company LG presently has no plans to bring Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update to the G4.

The LG G4, which runs Android 5.1 Lollipop, might jump directly to Android M, Phone Arena reported. Last week, LG Hellas revealed that the company had no plans to roll out Android 5.1 Lollipop to the G3. However, the company has not mentioned whether its handsets, including the G4, would receive the latest Android M update or not.

Meanwhile, U.S Cellular has officially released Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge owners on its network, according to International Business Times. The mobile carrier T-Mobile have already released the Lollipop update for the smartphones on its network, AT&T, Sprint and Verizon are next in line.

The international rollout of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop to the smartphones has already started, and previous week, T-Mobile became the first U.S. carrier to release the update for the Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6.

Customers of U.S. Cellular can upgrade their Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and S6 via Samsung Kies software using a PC and attaching their handset with a USB cable or via Wi-Fi directly from their smartphones.

It is expected that the Android 5.1.1 update will bring performance enhancements and several bug fixes. In addition, the update will also include the camera tweaks and guest mode that came with the T-Mobile Android 5.1.1 update.

The release of the Android 5.1.1 update by U.S. Cellular and T-Mobile should bring extra pressure on other carriers, such as Sprint, AT&T and Verizon, to release the update soon for the Galaxy S6 Edge and S6 on their networks.
