The four-time MVP is expected to decline his player option for next season while the Cavaliers try to work out the contracts of  J.R. Smith, Iman Shumpert, Kevin Love, Tristan Thompson and Brendan Haywood. .

James wants to  pressure the Cavs to surround him with championship-caliber teammates.

He remains mum with about his contract situation but according to  general manager David Griffin, is "very engaged" in dealing with the team's roster.

In fact, Griffin has heard from James every day following the 2015 NBA Draft on personnel matters and is working to have Love, Thompson, Shumpert and Smith to be retained.

In the draft, the Cavaliers acquired picks No. 31 and No. 36 by trading their first round pick in Tyus Jones to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Cavaliers also obtained forward Rakeem Christmas of Syracuse in the No. 36 pick and then selected

St. John's forward Sir'Dominic Pointer with the 53rd overall pick.

There were also rumors that Dwyane Wade will join the Cavaliers for a run at the 2015-16 NBA championship although James has not made any comment about it.

These rumors were fueled by Wade's comment on television that started with a "when I was in Miami" line. Then his father was seen wearing a Cleveland Cavaliers shirt in church service.

Wade's wife, actress Gabrielle Union, fueled the rumors with her choice of verb tense when he texted Justise Winslow to get used to getting his name misspelled in Miami and that she  knows a guy who "dealt" with the same, in reference to Wade.

Of course, there were is also an equal chance he might choose to join Kobe Bryant with the Los Angeles Lakers.
