It is still unclear if the electronics manufacturer Samsung will maintain its expected release of the Galaxy Tab S2 in July or postpone it to October. However, reports suggest that the upcoming tablet will have innovative features and will battle head-on with iPad Air 3 and iPad Mini 4.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 was allegedly spotted recently in the Federal Communications Commission office of the United States, most possibly to ensure that it is fulfilling all requirements as a consumer electronics product before its market launch. This is an indication that the device is about to be released to the US pretty soon.
Samsung's new tablet will feature the same specifications as the iPad Air 2. Galaxy Tab S2 will be available in two screen size variants, an 8-inch display screen model and 9.7-inch display screen model, which matches the sizes of the current tablet offering from the tech giant Apple, the iPad Mini 3 and the iPad Air 2. Furthermore, both models will have 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution, according to Vine Report.
The upcoming tablet will run on Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system In addition, the device will feature an 8 MP rear camera and 3 GB of RAM. Galaxy Tab S2 will have a 32GB of built-in storage with an option to expand through a micro-SD slot and will be powered by a 64-bit Exynos chipset.
It is speculated that the exterior of the Samsung's new tablet will be made of metallic frame, which is currently the latest trend when it comes to the company's newer devices. It is worthy to note that this was first applied on the Galaxy S6 Edge and the Galaxy S6 four months ago.
However, Galaxy Tab S2 premium advantage over the iPad Air 2 is that it is in fact thinner at just 5.4 millimeters. The Apple iPad Air 2 is 6.1 millimeters thin, Master Herald reported.
The South Korean giant has yet to release an official statement with regards to the specifications of the upcoming device, so take this information with a grain of salt.
