With Rupert Wyatt's "Gambit" solo film set to hit theaters next year, Gambit himself, Channing Tatum, has revealed his strategy to perfect the Cajun accent of the card-throwing superhero.

In his interview with Digital Spy, Tatum said he has an idea on who to go to in learning the accent, since he is from the South. For the actor, searching for someone who can help him train and learn Gambit's accent is better than turning up an accent of his own.

Wyatt's upcoming "Gambit" serves as the reincarnation of the Cajun mutant in Marvel's Cinematic Universe, so Tatum's accent is important, according to Cinema Blend. The "X-Men" animated series in the 1990s was faithful to Gambit's Cajun accent; however, Taylor Kitsch, who played Gambit in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" did not keep the authenticity of the mutant's manner of speech.

Created by writer Chris Claremont and artist Jim Lee, Gambit is the third Marvel superhero who will have his solo film, aside from Wolverine and Spider-Man. Right now, Marvel and Wyatt have not given fans an idea on how Tatum will play the card-throwing mutant in full costume. In addition, no announcement was made yet on the members of the cast and the central plot of the upcoming film.

Along with Wyatt set to direct the film, Claremont and Joshua Zetumer are on board to pen the script. Furthermore, Simon Kinbers, Lauren Shuler Donner, and Reid Carolin will produce the forthcoming "Gambit" solo film.

Wyatt's "Gambit" solo film is slated to premiere in theaters on Oct. 7, 2016.
