The two-time champion, Rafael Nadal was knocked out by Jamaican-German qualifier Dustin Brown ranked No. 102, in the Wimbledon 2015.

This is not the first instance of Brown beating Nadal, as the former has a history of defeating the latter at a Wimbledon warm-up event in Halle last year, CNN reported.

Nadal, the 14-time Grand Slam winner, was beaten in the second round by his unseeded opponent in four sets - 7-5, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4.

The winner of 2008 and 2010 Wimbledon, Nadal now doubts if he will be back to his former self.

This marks the fourth time in a row, Nadal’s trip ending in the hands of a player outside the Top 100 in the world. Last year, Nadal was eliminated in the fourth round by Nick Kyrgios, ranked No 144, while he lost to Steve Darcis ranked 135 in the first round of Wimbledon 2013. In 2012, Lukas Rosal, ranked 100, sent him packing in the second round.

“My motivation is to be back to that level but I don’t know if I can. If I don’t make that happen then I’ve played five finals and taken the trophy back home two times, so that’s not bad,” Nadal told BBC.

Nadal, who lost at both French Open and Australian Open quarter finals this year, is currently at his lowest ranking in almost a decade. However, the Spainard, handling the loss with grace, said “It’s not the end. It is a sad moment for me but life continues. My career, too.”

Following his second round defeat to Brown, Former World No 1 John McEnroe has asked Nadal to “get a new damn coach,” and consider dispensing the services of Nadal’s uncle and mentor Toni, who has coached the Spainard for his entire career, according to Telegraph.
