In the eighth installment of the series "Fast and Furious 8," Eva Mendez is rumored to form a love triangle involving her character, Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez) and Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel).
"Fast and Furious 8" will release on April 14, 2017 and Mendez is said to be reprising her role as the undercover agent Monica Fuentes. Mendez was first seen in "Too Fast, Too Furious" with her love interest being the late Walker. She was briefly seen in "Fast 5" as well, according to Gospel Herald.
Also rumored to be joining Diesel, Jason Statham and Dwayne Johnson in the "Furious 8" cast are Lucas Black as Sean Boswell, Kurt Russell as Mr. Nobody,and Tyrese Gibson as Roman.
There is also a possibility that Cody Walker will be replacing his late brother Paul Walker for the role Brian O'Conner. Since the late Walker was tragically killed in a car crash in 2013, he was present only for the first half in the previous movie, with his brother filling in for him in the form of CGI graphics.
No plot details are available for this movie but Diesel previously said that he would like the filming of this movie to take place in New York, according to IBT. It is also rumored that this movie will be released in two installments, as an ode to the finale of the mega blockbuster "Fast and Furious" series.
In addition, Johnson also confirmed that the producers of the movie are planning a spin off for his character, the CIA agent Hobbs. Since his character remains an epic favorite with fans, the producers are keen to get more out of it. Statham is also very excited about his role being reprised as the brother of permanently incapacitated Owen Shaw, who plays the character of Evans.
