Rumors are doing the rounds that Google's Nexus 5 (2015) smartphone is scheduled to be released this August. Moreover, several reports suggest that the Nexus 5's August release date could be also the  release date of Google's latest operating system Android M.

According to reports, the tech giant Google has partnered with the electronics manufacturer LG to work on the smaller version of Nexus 5. A joint launch of Android M and a new Nexus smartphone will likely happen; however, it was not clear whether the new smartphone that will become the standard bearer for Google's latest version of its mobile platform will in fact be the new Nexus 5, Tech Times reported.

However, according to a GeekSnack report, Google's Nexus 5 2015 will be the company's flagship smartphone and will be powered by Android M.

The report said that the 2015 Nexus 5 will come with a 5.3-inch display screen. The handset will have a removable and energy-efficient battery, 3GB RAM and USB Type C. It will be powered by Snapdragon 810 processor and will sport a 16 MP rear-facing camera and an 8 MP front-facing camera.

The Android M was earlier announced during Google I/O Conference 2015, Gospel Herald reported. It was branded as the successor of Android Lollipop mobile operating system. Google has not given much details about it at present, but will possibly give more details as the release date nears.

Google is working hard to improve the battery life and security features of the upcoming 2015 Nexus 5.
