Emmy Award-winning actor Bryan Cranston, known not only for his "Breaking Bad" character but for his knack in situation comedy, amused fans at the recent Comic Con in San Diego with an epic joke and microphone drop.
When a fan, who is an Albuquerque dweller, asked which among the places in his hometown Cranston really liked and if he had fun there, the actor gave an off-the-cuff reply that had the audience bursting with laughter.
Cranston replied with a casual "Yeah" to the fan, then added that he would visit the latter's mother "once in a while," USA Today reported. As the crowd roared, Cranston dropped the microphone. The surprised fan proved to be a sport and laughed along with other members of the audience.
The 59-year-old veteran actor later complimented fans at Comic-Con, said he loves them, then added in jest that he loves the Albuquerque guy more, HNGN reported.
Cranston, who shot to fame as Walter White, the terminally ill Chemistry teacher-turned drug lord in the smash hit tv series "Breaking Bad," is known to be an occasional prankster. Two years ago, Cranston walked around at the Comic-Con venue wearing a Heisenberg mask with the shaved head, and chatted with fans. He also placed the mask on the table of panelists when he and "Breaking Bad' co-star Aaron Paul fielded questions about themselves and about the tv show.
Cranston has been the subject of fan-driven news that he might play Lex Luthor in "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice," a role that landed on Jesse Eisenberg's lap. Cranston is part of the cast of the indie flick "Trumbo" which focuses on the life of backlisted screenwriter Dalton Trumbo; and lends his voice for the animated web series entitled "SuperMansion" that will be streaming on Crackle this coming fall.
