Apple is poised to release its latest operating system, iOS 9, in fall and the company recently announced that it will release a public beta version of the operating system. As of July 9, interested users can download and install the iOS 9 beta version on their supported devices.

For users who wants to get the public beta update, they must first register to Apple iOS Developer Program or join the Public Beta Program using their Apple ID. After registering, they will be able to log-in into the Beta Software Program where they must enroll their supported iOS device. After registering, the device will download and install a configuration profile and once finished the iOS 9 public beta version will be available on the device's Software Update option, according to Mac World.

According to The Verge, unlike iOS 7 or iOS 8, iOS 9 will focus more on increasing software efficiency and will offer minimal upgrade in terms of user interface. The iOS 9 public beta upgrade can be downloaded and installed on the iPhone 6 Plus and iPad Air 2. Apple has yet to confirm whether the public beta version will be available on other legacy devices.

One of the most notable change made on the iOS 9 is the use of the San Francisco font which replaces the Helvetica Neue. Apple's San Francisco font was first introduced on the Apple Watch.

An update to the virtual keyboard's casing now denotes lowercase or uppercase letters. An added toolbar for Bluetooth keyboards now features word prediction and easy-to-use copy/paste/cut buttons.

Since the iOS 9 is still in beta stage, many tech analysts expect that there are still a lot to improve and Apple is still developing the operating system. The operating system was announced at Apple's 2015 Worldwide Developers Conference and is expected to be widely released in September.
