The "Harry Potter" series by J.K. Rowling has sold 450 million copies but this only makes it the fifth most popular book of all time. The series of seven fantasy novels is behind The Koran, The King James Bible, "Quotations from Chairman Mao Tse-tung" and "Don Quixote."
"Quotations from Chairman Mao Tse-tung" by Mao Zedong has sold 800 million copies and "Don Quixote" by Miguel de Cervantes has sold 500 million ranking third and fourth respectively in the list of the most popular books of all time by Love Reading.
The most popular book of all time is The Koran with three billion copies sold followed by The King James Bible with 2.5 billion copies sold in the second place.
Following Rowling's "Harry Potter" series in the list are "A Tale Of Two Cities" by Charles Dickens with 200 million copies sold, "The Lord Of The Rings" by J.R.R. Tolkien with 150 million copies sold, and "Le Petit Prince" by Antoine de Saint-Exupery with 140 million copies sold in the sixth, seventh and eight places, respectively.
In addition, Lewis Carroll's "Alice In Wonderland," Cao Xueqin's "Dream Of The Red Chamber," Agatha Cristie's "And Then There Were None" and Tolkien's "The Hobbit" have sold 100 million copies.
Meanwhile, actors are invited to the open auditions for the "Harry Potter" spinoff "Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them," which will star Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston and Ezra Miller, NBC News reported.
In particular, casters are looking for an actor who will play the "Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them" character named Modesty, a young girl with an inner strength, stillness and an ability to understand people by seeing deep into them.
