According to Cinema Blend, Freeman was rumored to play the role of Everett K. Ross or Edward Chase, England's Prime Minister, following the revelation of his role in the upcoming film. With Freeman's latest disclosure about his role, it is assumed that he is going to play Henry Peter Gyrich, who was first made known to the Marvel Comics in 1977 as a distinctive government contact to the Avengers.

Given Freeman's tease on his role, it can also be assumed that he has a similar role to Black Panther, who was reported to be a neutral character in the film. With the alter ego of T'Challa, Black Panther has not been linked with the Avengers and he has a perspective that is different from Steve Roger's or Tony Stark's, which made Marvel include him in the Russos' upcoming film.

Aside from Freeman, "Captain America: Civil War" stars Paul Rudd, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Emily VanCamp, Daniel Bruhl, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., and Chris Evans, among others.

Joe and Anthony's "Captain America: Civil War" is slated to premiere in theaters on May 6, 2016.
