Fortune-telling plays an important aspect in Tang Wei’s latest film, and the actress said that she could personally relate to her new movie.

Tang Wei and Liao Fan teamed up for the first time in the romantic-comedy film “Only You.” A fortune-telling incident prompted Tang’s character to go to Italy to find her one true love.

During the film’s Beijing premier, Tang said to the press that her parents consulted some fortune-tellers on her behalf to have an idea of what the future holds for her. She said that the fortune-tellers were “completely right.” She also said that as a wife, she still has “a long way to go.”

Tang, who starred opposite Australian actor Chris Hemsworth (“Thor”) in Michael Mann’s action-thriller “Blackhat,” is married to South Korean director-screenwriter Kim Tae-yong. They actually got married twice last year: an informal wedding held in Sweden and an official one in Hong Kong.

The 35-year-old actress, who played Mrs. Mai in Ang Lee’s critically acclaimed box-office hit “Lust, Caution,” was in Beijing on July 19 to promote the movie. She was joined by Liao, who was declared Best Actor in last year’s 64th Berlin International Film Festival for his portrayal of an ex-cop investigating serial killings in Diao Yinan’s “Black Coal, Thin Ice.”

Zhang Hao’s “Only You” is a Hollywood remake of Norman Jewison’s 1994 movie of the same title, which paired Robert Downey Jr. (“Iron Man” series and “Avengers: Age of Ultron”) with Academy Award winner Marisa Tomei. The movie paved way for the two stars to share a real-life romantic relationship.

Wang Zhongjun and Wang Zhonglei’s Beijing-based Huayi Brothers Media Corp. bought the movie’s copyrights from Sony Pictures Entertainment. Director-screenwriter-actor Feng Xiaogang is the producer.

“Only You” opens on July 24.
