"Star Wars Battlefront" may be one of the most anticipated games for 2015, but it appears that this is not the only "Star Wars" game in development. Fans of the franchise may be looking at two more titles-one involving VR and the other involving significant patch that refreshes an old game.
The first is a pitch for a "Star Wars" game coming from filmmaker and director Rob McLellan. He had help from Craig Stiff, VFX professional and Hammerhead VR studio.
There is already a trailer for the "Star Wars" VR game project, seen below. The only details so far about the game is that it will be built and run on the Unreal Engine 4, Kotaku reported.
The game is still in early development. Even though the aim of the developer is to have it up and running as a playable demo once Oculus Rift becomes commercially available, McLellon and company have made emphasized that this is a fan project.
Another title receiving attention is "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2." This time, there' a reason for players of the old-time favorite to go back into the game following the newly released patch on Steam. Aspyr Media has revisited the decade-old title and given it some new features to improve the gameplay and provide support for a couple of other features, Destructoid reported.
For instance, Linux and Mac players can now enjoy the game on their specific platforms. Steam Workshop is also now supported, with The Sith Lords Restored Content Mod made available on day one.
There are also additional 37 achievements that can be earned via gameplay. Support for both native widescreen and 4K and 5K monitors are provided, as well as Steam Cloud saves. There is also controller support for the Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360 and PS3.
This is one reason for old players to get back to "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2." For those who have not yet picked up the title, Steam is currently offering a 25 percent discount for the rest of the week until July 28.
