Sony has confirmed a new accessory for the PS4, which is the media remote, which is official, licensed and set to be released by PDP. The new media remote allows players to control more than just the PS4. It can also control other media devices via Bluetooth, and users can set up to three more devices, namely the TV, the audio receiver and the set-top box.

This will make it easier for PS4 owners to use the remote for other devices that are used in tandem with the PS4. PDP's PS4 media remote also has buttons that will control the playback for the PS4 even without using a DualShock 4 controller, GameSpot reported.

For PS4 owners who are waiting for a media remote, this may be the official one coming out. To date, Sony has not hinted that it will be rolling out its own media remote. The specific release date of PDP's media remote has not yet been set, but online retailers are already listing the price at $30 and set for an October release time frame.

Sony has also recently announced via the PlayStation Blog a new summer sale that offers a couple of digital-only titles at discounted prices. The PS4, PS3 and PS Vita all have discounted games, while there are also a couple of titles that are available for cross-buy. These titles have already hit the PlayStation Store and will stay there until July 29.

Some of the discounted digital PS4 titles include "Bastion," "Contrast," "Escape Goat 2," "LA Cops," "The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth," "We Are Doomed" and "PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate." The discounts are up to 50 percent on some games, but PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to save a bit more.

Currently ongoing over at the PlayStation Store are the discounts on new releases. "Journey" is currently discounted at 20 percent off until July 28. Two titles, "Hatoful Boyfriend" and "Tembo The Baddass Elephant" are discounted at 20 and 30 percent respectively until Aug. 4. Finally, "QUBE" and "Skullgirls" are both at 20 percent discount until Aug. 5.
