Actor Charlie Hunnam recently talked about his exit from "Fifty Shades of Grey" and his fans are now speculating the he could be regretting his decision.

Hunnam was one of the actors who were first tapped to play the role of Christian Grey. At that time, the actor was filming "Sons of Anarchy" so he knew that he could not focus on "FSOG," according to Entertainment Weekly

Hunnam, meanwhile, justified his decision to focus on "Sons of Anarchy" instead of "Fifty Shades of Grey" and said that the filming for the former has already commenced.

This does not mean though that Hunnam did not feel bad for his decision to exit Sam Taylor-Johnson's film under Universal Pictures. In fact, the actor said that he did not want to disappoint his fans and the fans of the franchise if he were to give them a half-baked performance.

Hunnam also acknowledged the fact that the character Christian is very popular. This means that much more will be expected of him.

Meanwhile, "Fifty Shades of Grey" screenwriter Kelly Marcel revealed that she did not feel bad when Hunnam rejected the role of Christian. In an interview with Podcast One, Marcel said that she understood that Hunnam did not feel as connected to the character than he should have in the first place.

The role of Christian eventually landed on British actor Jamie Dornan. He will be reprising his role in the upcoming sequel "Fifty Shades Darker" alongside onscreen partner Dakota Johnson, who plays Anastasia Steele.

"Fifty Shades Darker" is slated to hit theaters in the United States on Feb. 10, 2017.
