The much awaited "Criminal Minds" Season 11 will have Aisha Tyler join the cast, while the story will delve deep into the personal lives of characters.

Tyler has landed the role of Dr. Tara Lewis, a forensic psychologist who focuses on criminal cases and will be working with Behavioral Analyst Unit (BAU), Entertainment Weekly reported. Meanwhile, Marisol Nichols of "NCIS" is likely coming back this season as the actress has likely tweeted that she is going to have a part in the "Criminal Minds" Season 11.

With Kate Callahan's (Jennifer Love Hewitt) exit at the end of season 10, and Jennifer Jareau's (A.J. Cook) absence due to maternity leave, the need of strong female characters is high. Rumor has it that Dr. Lewis will be Dr. Spencer Reid's new romantic partner. However, there is no official word about it.

In terms of story line, Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) revealed that the upcoming season will deal with character development and that he is interested in the new approach of featuring character's personal lives, according to Christian Today.

"It's always fun when the writer takes a magnifying glass to the characters' lives," Gubler said in an interview with Digital Spy.

Cast members David Rossi (Joe Mantegna) and Mateo Cruz (Esai Morales) also hinted on what is in store for the fans in the "Criminal Minds" Season 11, on an "Ask Me Anything" session with Reddit.

Mantegna revealed that Paget Brewster will be returning to the series and directing two episodes in this season.

Fans will have to wait till the show premieres to know what exactly "Criminal Minds" Season 11 has in store.
