Traditionally, Apple lines up its flagship iPhone for major upgrades every two years so nothing dramatic is expected of the iPhone 6S release date this 2015. But three key features of the upcoming device can be considered as huge jumps from the iPhone 6 that one can assume they must have been intended for the iPhone 7 next year.

But in order to stay way ahead of the competition, the tech giant thought it better to advance the planned iPhone upgrades for 2016. With the iPhones 6S bearing the three features briefly detailed below, the 6S could prove as "Apple's most advanced S-cycle iPhone yet," according to Business Insider.

Force Touch

In one of his recent research notes, Ming-chi Kuo of KGI Securities discussed that Force Touch on the iPhone would have required an overhaul of its design, inside and out. The Apple insider also insisted that if the screen technology that Apple first used with the Apple Watch then the follow up to the next iPhone will be slightly taller, wider and thicker.

But all indications suggest the iPhone 6S is but a doppelganger of the iPhone 6 save for the differences under the hood. And Force Touch, which offers additional smartphone functions when the screen is tapped or swiped with extra pressure, is believed to be packed with the 6S.

Why Apple has decided not to wait for the redesigned iPhone 7 and go ahead with Force Touch on the iPhone 6S remains a mystery.

Higher RAM provision

The iPhone 6 came with 1GB of RAM last year and Apple observers, basing on the company's release cycle, can safely predict that the next RAM upgrade is unlikely to happen this year. Perhaps, in time for the iPhone in 2016 but even that is still unsure.

But the rumors seem persistent that the 6S and 6S Plus will benefit from 2GB of RAM. The decision to increase on memory chip might have been motivated by Apple wanting to take advantage of the power that the tandem of A9 chip and iOS 9 will create.

12MP main cam

Since the iPhone 4S in 2011, the 8MP rear shooter has been the iPhone camera signature. The iPhone 6 was rumored to pad up on the megapixel department but the handset ended up with the 8Mp though with significant camera hardware tweaks such as the optical image stabilization on the iPhone 6 Plus.

For the iPhone 6S this 2015, the whispered camera bumps range from dual-sensor to 3D imaging capabilities and they might just become real. But the possibility of Apple catching up on the megapixel race seems to be gaining traction, which suggests that an iPhone 12MP main cam doesn't have to wait for next year or for the iPhone 7.

The iPhone 6S and more so, the 6S Plus, may just deliver the goods and that may just happen in less than two months. That is if the next iPhone release date is scheduled on or before September 25 this 2015.
