It seems the much awaited Square Enix's "Final Fantasy 7" remake release will happen more likely by 2016, at least in Europe.

According to a new PlayStation advertisement in European games magazine "EDGE," the “Final Fantasy VII Remake” has been listed among the "coming soon" games in the 2015/16 calendar. There is no specific date as the ad lists the game as TBA - To Be Announced, Gaming Bolt reported.

This falls in line with the previous reports that pointed to a December 2016 placeholder, suggesting the game to be available next year.

The "Final Fantasy 7" remake is also said to feature "dramatic changes" to the game's combat, while being recognizable, with resemblances to the classic.

"We’re not going to be changing it into a shooter or something like that. We are going to be bringing dramatic changes, but we want to make sure it’s still recognizable," game director Tetsuya Nomura told the Official PlayStation Magazine, as cited by Games Radar.

Nomura stopped short of revealing any further specifics on how combat will change or any other developments in the "Final Fantasy 7" remake." Fans can expect more information in the coming months, with the release allegedly scheduled for 2016.

Rumors have it that the upcoming game will take even a while and will be released only in 2017, as Square Enix is likely having its plate full with “Kingdom Hearts 3” and “Final Fantasy 15.”

Also, the accuracy of the new ad seems a little dubious, as "Persona 5" and "No Man's Sky" which are reportedly confirmed for a launch this year, has also been listed as TBA. So, it's better to take this with a pinch of salt, as anything related to "Final Fantasy 7" remake release is yet to be officially confirmed.
