Considering the last episode's events and the unexpected death of Paul Woodrugh (Taylor Kitsch), which made fans to forget Ben Caspere, the lengthy finale is kind of expected by the fans.

There are number of theories for the central case of the season - "Who is the Bird Head?" with Laura/Erica, who worked for Caspere, said to be the prime suspect. She was recognized to be one of the siblings orphaned by a robbery in 1992, in which Caspere was involved, Vanity Fair reported.

The upcoming episode, to be aired on Aug 9, Sunday, will more likely see creator and writer Nic Pizzolatto wrapping up the storyline up. HBO president Michael Lombardo, claims the finale to be "enormously satisfying," encouraging fans to tune in for the episode.

"I think you need to watch the entirety of it...I think it's enormously satisfying. I think Nic is a very - "adventurous" is not the right word. He's a bold storytelling, and I mean that only in the most positive way. I think he takes risks in how he lays out a story, in the pacing of stories. And I think it pays off in this particular season," Lombardo said, CinemaBlend reported.

Lombardo also added that the network would love to have another season of the show, if Pizzaolatto is interested, while insisting that final episode will be give the grasp of the actual story of the entire series.
