"Frozen" director Chris Buck has revealed that Tarzan is the long-lost brother of Anna and Elsa.

In his interview with MTV News during a press event for the Walt Disney Animation Studios Short Collection, Buck said that the Arandelle's royalties are siblings to the iconic savage figure, also adding that the penguins from "Surf's Up" are also on the other side of the island where Tarzan lives.

According to the "Frozen" and "Tarzan" spin-off theories, Anna and Elsa's parents did not pass away at sea. Following the shipwreck, Arandelle's king and queen find themselves in a shadowy jungle. The queen was heavy with child in the course of the voyage and gave birth to Tarzan. While they were able to build a tree house, they were devoured by a leopard, leaving Tarzan to the apes.

With plot theories becoming a trend among film viewers, "Frozen" is also linked with "The Little Mermaid," as per Cinema Blend. According to fans, the sunken ship where Ariel swims through is the ship that carried Arandell's king and queen.

Known for his work on "Frozen," Buck is also recognized for directing Disney's "Tarzan," "Pocahontas," and "Surf's Up." At the moment, Buck is set to helm "Frozen 2," along with "Wreck-It-Ralph" director Jennifer Lee, who co-directed 2013's "Frozen" and Walt Disney's short films collection "Frozen Fever."

Meanwhile, a live-action adaptation of Disney's "Tarzan" is set to be helmed by "Harry Potter" director David Yates. The film stars Christopher Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson, Margot Robbie, and Alexander Skarsgard, as the titular character, among others.

As "Frozen 2" is currently in its early phase of development, new characters, exact plot details, and exact release date are yet to be revealed. For the meantime, Yates' "Tarzan" is slated to premiere in theaters on July 1, 2016.
