Starting August 28, fans of "Days of Our Lives" will get to see Patch and Kayla's son, Joey, who was last seen as a six-year-old boy. In the episode, Joey (James Lastovic) will play the role of a troubled teenager.

Meanwhile, this fall, Ciara Brady will return and the role has been given to actress Vivian Jovanni. The character Chase Jennings will be played by Jonathan McClendon. In November, the soap opera will introduce a grown Theo Carver, to be played by Kyler Pettis and Claire Brady to be played by Olivia Keegan.

"Days Of Our Lives" executive producer Ken Corday explained why they decided to include the children of the older characters. According to him, their inclusion has something to do with the show's 50th anniversary this coming November.

Corday also added that the teens will finally be introduced as such to make them more relatable to audiences. He added that each one of the newbies have flaws and no one will be a goody two-shoes.

For instance, Corday teased that Ciara will not be like his mom Joey will be very similar with Patch. With this, fans need to wait and see what they will be contributing to the show, according to NewNowNext.

"Days of Our Lives" airs weekdays at 1 p.m. ET on NBC.
