"NCIS" Season 13 is one month away and the cast and crew is doing a great job of keeping their fans updated about the show's future with related plot details and potential spoilers. Recently, showrunner Gary Glasberg and cast members have hinted at what fans can expect when the show returns with its all-new instalment.
According to the show boss, the series' protagonist and fan-favourite character Leroy Jethro Gibbs' (Mark Harmon) will have a lot to deal with. His recovery will be full of struggles, putting his friendship with Michael Weatherly's Anthony DiNozzo at stake. Here are few spoilers for "NCIS" Season 13. Gibbs was shot twice in the chest by the teenager he befriended at the end of "NCIS" Season 12 finale. At the time, fans were left wondering whether Gibbs will be saved or not.
Gibbs return is certain and it is said to bring some major changes. According to TV Guide, fans can expect to see a change in Gibbs' personality in "NCIS" Season 13. The difference is going to impact his relationships with his colleagues, especially with DiNozzo.
Gibbs is not only dealing with physical wounds of war, but also dealing with psychological effects of it. The showmaker suggests that this results into some "conflicts" with his co-workers.
"Gibbs is in a difficult place, a physically difficult place. ... We're still functioning as a team, but there's absolutely some conflict," Glasberg told the abovementioned publication. "There's issues that have to get worked out between team members, very specifically between Tony and Gibbs." At the same time, his team members are "sensitive" and "ultra-supportive" to him.
While Gibbs is still recovering, it is said, DiNozzo assumes the leader's role to take down the terrorist organisation The Calling. According to Glasberg, the case "dramatically gets resolved" and DiNozzo "rises to the occasion. Will this be the reason behind tension between Gibbs and DiNozzo?
Meanwhile, "NCIS" star Rocky Carroll, who portrays Vance" confirmed to TV Line that Gibbs return will be quite an ordeal for him. His return in Season 13 reportedly "impacts the team" and have some major consequences.
"It's going to be interesting to see what the hell happens with Gibbs this year, because that's the type of thing that can change someone pretty significantly," Brian Dietzen, the actor who plays Jimmy Palmer told the entertainment publication. "Getting shot by a child is pretty nasty, and pretty momentous," he explained. Meanwhile, Weatherly summed it up by saying that there "is a fundamental shift in the show."
