The battle between the two famous superheroes is assumed to be epic, though the specific reason behind their clash is unknown.

The storyline in the "Civil War" comics reveals that Spider-Man originally sided with Iron Man following the release of the superhero registration act; however, the web-slinger soon shifted side to Captain America after he discovered the true intensions of the pro-registration side.

While Spider-Man's team in the Russo's "Captain America: Civil War" has not yet been confirmed, it has been reported that the superhero is set to join Iron Man's pro-registration side, together with Hawkeye, War Machine, and Vision. On Captain America's anti-registration side are Black Widow, Falcon, Scarlet Witch, Ant-Man, and the Winter Soldier.

With a number of superheroes to be featured in the Russos' upcoming film, the reported clash between Spider-Man and Captain America is just a fraction of one huge fight between the two teams, as per Cinema Blend.

Directed by the Russos, "Captain America: Civil War" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on May 6, 2016 while Jon Watts' solo film "Spider-Man" is set to hit theaters on July 28, 2017.
