On Sept. 3, a total of 12,000 troops will march and parade through the Tiananmen Square in Beijing to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the conclusion of World War II, according to the Office of the Parade Leading Team.

Qu Rui, the office's deputy director and the General Staff Headquarters' Operations Department chief, also revealed that 50 formations will comprise the parade, which also commemorates the victory of China's resistance against Japan and the world anti-Fascist war.

Among these formations, there will be 11 foot formations, 27 armament formations, 10 air echelons, and two mounted formations featuring the Chinese veterans during the war from the forces led by the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Kuomintang Party (KMT).

Qu further shared during a press conference that apart from the 12,000-strong troops, nearly 200 aircraft of more than 20 types and 500 pieces of over 40 kinds of equipment will be showcased in the parade.

The parade, which is expected to last for 70 minutes, will serve as an avenue for about 84 percent of the armament to meet the public.

The Army, Navy, Air Force, Armed Police and Second Artillery Force will also debut their new Chinese-made armaments.

Apart from the Chinese military, over 10 foreign armies will also join China's WWII memorial parade, including Kazakhstan and Russia.

Qu said that some of these participating troops have already arrived in China and have accepted training for the said parade.

The upcoming high-profile event will utilize "Beidou's highly accurate orientation and measurement technology," which is part of China's local positioning system.
