Rumors suggest that the LG G4, LG G3 and LG G2 will skip the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update and will directly jump to Android Marshmallow.

According to Neurogadget, the electronics maker LG may be passing up the Android update for the LG G series of smartphones and wait it out until Android Marshmallow gets launched. Owners of the LG G2, LG G3 and LG G4 will have to wait more before they get the Android M on their handset.

In the past, the electronics maker LG has skipped other Android updates such as Android 4.4.4 KitKat, Australia Network News reported. On the other hand, the South korea-based Samsung regularly update its devices with the newest of Android versions, even though the rollout may not be fast.

The LG G4, the recent version of the G series of smartphone, comes with Android 5.1 out of the box.  However, this smartphone probably will not get Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update but wait for the Android M.
Users of LG G3 and LG G4 will get their update to Android Marshmallow even with the wait.

However, users of LG G2 may not even get the newest version of Android operating system on their handsets.

At present, Android is available to developers as a preview version, and it should be released in the month of October this year. However, it does not mean that all LG devices will have it then. The update will rollout slowly.

According to reports, users of LG G3 will not get the Android update until next year and users of LG G4 owners may get the Android M update around Christmas.
