The release of "Winds of Winter" is still awaited. On the other hand, the "Game of Thrones" author "George R. R. Martin" has gone ahead and disclosed the title of the next book as "A Dream of Spring."

Martin had also revealed that the ending of "Winds of Winter" will be bittersweet, something on the lines of the "Lords of the Ring" trilogy. He also confessed that J. R. Tolkien has been quite a major influence on him and hence it is no surprise that he is planning to finish the complete book series on a bittersweet note, as well.

The delay in releasing "Winds of Winter" has been extraordinary as the last book "A Dance with Dragons" released four years ago in 2011. Diehard fans generally finished the book first and then watched the show but this time around, it would be a miracle if "Winds of Winter" manages to release before "Games of Thrones" Season 6 airs.

Martin has also resigned to the fact that the television show may also end before the release of the complete book series, according to iDigital Times.

According to GeekWire, he half-heartedly admitted that, "The show is moving forward like a locomotive, or sometimes a jet locomotive. They're writing 60-page scripts, I'm writing 1,500-page novels. So who the hell knows? There was a period where I was worried about that, then I said, to hell with that. Worrying about it isn't going to change it one way or another."

He added, "I still sit down at the typewriter, and I have to write the next scene and the next sentence. I'm just going to tell my story, and they're telling their story and adapting my books, and we shall see."
