As part of the preparations for the upcoming World War II Victory Day parade, Beijing has constructed a parterre at the Tian'anmen Square resembling a mini Great Wall, complete with dove models flying above. The iconic decoration was completed on Aug. 20, 2015.

The capital has also erected an expansive viewing platform, where thousands of spectators will be able to witness the 12,000-strong parade of China's military force and technological might.
