It seems like the game developer NetherRealm has a huge announcement to be made on Aug. 31, Monday, which is expected to be about either the much awaited “Mortal Kombat X” release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, or about the rumored Kombat Pack 2.

“Been a while since we’ve had a Kombat Kast. Tune in on Monday for the latest Mortal Kombat X news & klues!!” creative director Ed Boon, teased the “MKX” fans, Game Rant reported.

NetherRealm Studios, Tyler Lansdown who runs the Kombat Kast, along with Boon have been teasing fans with what the latest Kombat Kast will stream on the official NetherRealm Studios Twitch channel at 4 p.m. EST.

“Hey Kano fans. Commando gets a new Kombo extending pop-up find out where on Monday,” tweeted Lansdown, iDigital Times reported.

“Be sure to check #patchnotespreview for some hints on upcoming changes! Here’s one to start...The Sun God may have a new move,” NetherRealm Studios tweeted.

Though the title of the broadcast suggests patch notes, Boon’s words of “news and klues” are believed to hint at a lot more. Recently, the creative director had been teasing about several new characters like Sektor, Alien, Ghost Face and an unnamed ninja to be included in Kombat Pack 2.

Previous reports pointed at the Spawn, Rain, Meat making it to the upcoming character DLC. However, there is no official word other than Boon’s teasers on anything related to Kombat Pack 2.

As for the announcement, NetherRealm is expected to reveal the possible release date of “MKX” on PS3 and Xbox 360. Rumor has that the developer is finally all set for “Mortal Kombat X” release on last generation consoles, which has been delayed more than once.

Earlier last week, Boon also teased that the PS3 and Xbox 360 release of “MKX” will happen soon. This lend some weight to speculations that the game will be released on last gen consoles on Aug. 31, Monday.

Nevertheless, the developer as well as Ed Boon is yet to officially comment on “Mortal Kombat X” release for PS3 and Xbox 360.
