Amid Schumacher's family requesting for a media blackout, friends and fans of the Formula One ex-racer continue offering their support. Recently, former F1 champion Mika Hakkinen sent his regards and well wishes to his former competitor. Through a post on McLaren website, Hakkinen recounted the good memories in his racing career - a stiff competition between him and Schumi.

According to NBC Sports, Hakkinen wrote in the post, "My most memorable Belgian Grand Prix was undoubtedly the 2000 race... I arrived at Spa at the head of the world championship standings, and in an optimistic mood. My principal rival, as ever, was Ferrari's Michael Schumacher, just two world championship points behind me."

The two time Belgian Grand Prix champion, Hakkinen recounted the last lap he had against Schumacher, "n extremely vivid and equally breathless detail."

Hakkinen then devoted the position to Schumi, referring to his "old friend."

He said, "I hope and pray that those encouraging signs are continuing still. No, he will never race again; no, he may never walk again; he may never talk again, for all I know. But, on the other hand, he may. Miracles sometimes occur, and I for one dearly hope that a miracle occurs for Michael some time soon. Keep fighting, my old friend."

Apart from Hakkinen, fans are also sending their support for Schumacher and his family. One of the fans said that a book with messages of encouragement is being written.
