'The Big Bang Theory' Season 9 premiere cast

It seems like the much awaited “Big Bang Theory” season 9 will feature a storyline about the upcoming movie “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

“We’re talking about how that will be weaved into [the guys’] lives. And we have some really cool ideas…Obviously, we’re all excited about it, just as human beings – and the characters are as well. I don’t know exactly how it’s going to play in, but it won’t be ignored,” executive producer Steve Molaro told TV Line, adding that it would be really weird for the show to not mention the movie.

Considering “The Force Awakens” hits the theaters in the middle of “The Big Bang Theory” season 9, and the Howard (Simon Helberg), Leonard (Johnny Galecki), Raj (Kunal Nayyar) and Sheldon’s (Jim Parsons) obsession with “Star Wars” franchise, this was pretty much expected.

In fact, this is not the first time the series is bringing in a “Star Wars” movie, as “Big Bang Theory” season 7 has had cameos of James Earl Jones and Carrie Fisher in the episode “The Convention Conundrum,” Cinema Blend reported.

The all-new installment in the series will kick off with the long time couple Leonard and Penny (Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting) officially getting married in the premiere episode, but Molaro cautions that it’s just the start.

“That’s really only the beginning of the story. As fun and as great as it is to see them get married, that’s only part of it,” Molaro told TV Line.

The problem that Molaro is hinting at could be the arrival of Mandy, the woman Leonard kissed. The show has already cast Melissa Tang to play the role. There is no official information on how her entry will be, as of now.

Meanwhile, the cliffhanger of what happens to Sheldon and Amy (Mayim Bialik) is yet to be revealed. “The Big Bang Theory” season 9 premiere will also see the return of Sheldon’s mother Mary Cooper (Laurie Metcalf), while Penny’s father Wyatt (Keith Carradine) will be back in the third episode.
