There are speculations that LG G2 may not be getting the upcoming Android M upgrade.
According to Android Origin, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is the last major update for LG G2. On the other hand, the newer LG devices, such as the LG G3 and G4 will however get Android M within the next six months.
Android M is bound to get a lot of new features for the Android based smart phones. It will offer multi window support, flexible volume control support, and also a better graphics support. This upgrade is expected to bring many other major changes in the Android based devices as well. It is also rumored to bring about a superb theme support in the devices, according to GSM Arena.
LG is yet to issue the reason behind LG G2 completely skipping this major update. Mostly all other LG devices which are currently running on Android Lollipop 5.0, Android Lollipop 5.1, and Android Lollipop 5.1.1 are expected to get this upgrade within the next six months.
Android M is going to be launched along with the much anticipated Google Nexus 5 2015 in October.
Android M's developer's preview version is already released. It was released for the purpose of user beta testing. The users can download this official developer's preview from Google's website, install it, try it, and report back the user experience back to Google.
Downloading and installing this upgrade will make the device go through the master reset, meaning that all the data on the device will be wiped off. Hence, a careful backup of the data is suggested.
