"X-Men Origins: Wolverine" actor Liev Schreiber has revealed that James Mangold's untitled "Wolverine" sequel will center on an old Logan.
Schrieber played Sabretooth in Gavin Hood's 2009 film "X-Men Origins: Wolverine." In his interview with Jimmy Fallon in The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, he said that Mangold's upcoming film will feature an old Wolverine, which was indicative of an old Sabretooth. The actor also added that both his character and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine like "walkers."
Jackman hinted the "Old Man Logan" storyline from the comics at the San Diego Comic Con back in July, along with the revelation of his promotional Wolverine image for his upcoming "Wolverine" film. As per Cinema Blend, the "Old Man Logan" story revolves on an old Logan as the last standing "X-man," which is logical, since the mutant has fast regenerative abilities that prevent him to age.
Marvel Studios and its film directors have the inclination to deviate the film incarnation from the pages of the comic book, so the appearance of Schrieber as Logan's brother is not far from happening.
The untitled "Wolverine" sequel is reported to be Jackman's last film as the adamantium-clawed mutant. Aside from him, Patrick Stewart will also reprise his role as Charles Xavier/ Professor X. With Mangold set to helm the upcoming film, Michael Green is on board to pen the film screenplay. Meanwhile, Stan Lee and Lauren Shuler will co-produce the film.
